שם הסוג הבוטני (Urtica) נגזר מהמילה הלטינית uro, שפירושה ׳לשרוף׳. שם זה מתייחס לתחושה הצורבת במגע עור עם עלי סרפד טריים.

מונוגרף זה מתייחס לשימוש בחלקים העל-קרקעיים של המינים U. dioica (סרפד דו-ביתי) ו-U. urens (סרפד צורב) בלבד.

סרפד הינו עשב רב או חד שנתי (כתלות במין), הגדל באיזורים רבים בעלי אקלים ממוזג ברחבי העולם. סרפד צורב גדל בר בישראל.

סרפד מותר לשיווק בישראל.

רכיבים פעילים עיקריים

פלבונואידים (1-2% סה״כ, ביניהם rutin, quercetin, kaemferol, isohamnetin), סטרולים, פנולים (chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid), קומרינים (scopoletin), קרוטנואידים (lutein, β-carotene, xanthophylls, violaxanthin, lycopene), כלורופיל (0.3-1% בצמח היבש), מינרלים (כ- 1-4% צורן/סיליקון, 0.6-3.7% אשלגן), ויטמינים (C, B2, B5, K1).

 

התוויות

אלרגיות, אבנים בכליות, אטופיק דרמטיטיס, דלקת מפרקים שגרונית (RA), שיגדון (גאוט), דלקת מפרקים ניוונית (OA), אנמיה, יתר לחץ דם, בצקות ועוד.

 

מינונים 

תמצית נוזלית בריכוז 1:3, 45% אלכוהול – 15-30 מ״ל ביום. 

תמצית יבשה – תלוי בריכוז התמצית; מינון המקביל ל- 5-10 גרם עלווה ביום. 

חליטה – 6-12 גרם ביום. 

בפורמולה – 30-40%.

 

רגישות

מגע של עלי סרפד טריים גורם לתגובה עורית מקומית וזמנית של אודם, צריבה וגרד, המכונה סרפדת_(1-4). תופעה זו נובעת בעיקרה  למידע השלם למנויים

קיים דיווח מקרה אודות תינוק בן 17 ימים שסבל מסרפדת מפושטת לאחר  למידע השלם למנויים

 

תופעות לוואי

נטילת עלי סרפד עלולה לגרום בשכיחות נמוכה ל  למידע השלם למנויים

קיים דיווח מקרה בודד אודות  למידע השלם למנויים

 

מינון יתר

לא ידוע על תופעות הנגרמות ממינון יתר של עלי סרפד₍₁₎.

על אף ששימוש בספרד נפוץ בהריון, אין ביסוס חד משמעי לגבי בטיחות השימוש בתקופה זו.

שימוש מוגבל בנשים אינו מעיד על נזק או רעילות הנגרמים עקב צריכת סרפד במהלך ההריון₍₁₎.

עם זאת, מוטב להימנע מנטילה פומית של  למידע השלם למנויים
