המין P. amurense נקרא כך על שם נהר האמור (Amur), שלאורכו גדל הצמח. 

שמו העממי של הצמח (Cork Tree) נובע מדמיון קליפת הגזע לשעם.

התרגום המילולי של השם הסיני (Huang Bai) הינו ׳אשוח צהוב׳.

ברפואה הסינית, גם המין P. chinense משמש כחומר גלם לתמצית Huang bai.

פלודנדרון הינו עץ נשיר. מוצאו בצפון מזרח סין ובמזרח רוסיה.

פלודנדרון מותר לשיווק בישראל.

רכיבים פעילים עיקריים

אלקלואידים איזוקווינולינים (בעיקר 1.2-4.75%* berberine, עד 1.1% magnoflorine, עד 1.2% palmatine, jatrorrhizine (0.5%), phellodendrine, candicine), חומרים מרירים (obacunone, obaculactone), סטרולים (7-dehydrostigmasterol, beta-sitosterol, campesterol).

 

*קיימת שונות בתכולת האלקלואידים בין המינים השונים של הצמח(1-3). 

במין P. amurense ישנם כמות ומגוון גדולים יותר של אלקלואידים, אך ריכוז הברברין הינו נמוך ועומד על כ-1%. 

לעומתו, במין P. chinense, כמות האלקלואידים הכוללת נמוכה בכ-25%, אך ריכוז הברברין גדול בצורה משמעותית ועשוי להגיע לעד כ-4.5%.

 

התוויות

שלשול, הליקובקטר פילורי, קנדידה, זיהומים בנרתיק, זיהומים ודלקות בדרכי השתן, זיהומים ודלקות של מערכת הרבייה הגברית, פטרת, דלקת בלוטת הערמונית, הגדלה שפירה של הערמונית, זיהומי שלבקת, עודף שומנים בדם, סוכרת, סרטן, חרדה, תמיכה בירידה במשקל.

 

מינונים

תמצית נוזלית בריכוז 1:3, 45% אלכוהול – 10-25 מ״ל ביום.

תמצית יבשה – תלוי בריכוז התמצית. מינון השווה ל- 3-12 גרם צמח ביום.

מרתח – 3-12 גרם ביום.

בפורמולה – 20-30%.
